About Jorge Alberto Gonzalez
Jorge Alberto González was born in Cuba in 1949 and emigrated the United States with my family in 1965.
In 1969 upon graduating from High School, he started formally studying art at the School of Visual Arts in New York City. In 1972 after finishing the three year program offered by the school, he graduated with a certificate of completion with honors. A year later he was hired by the school and worked in their graphic arts department for three years earning numerous awards.
The School of Visual Arts started offering degrees in 1975, in 1977 Jorge Alberto completed his studies earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a graphic design major.
Because of Jorge Alberto's ability to visualize a finished project and his sensitivity for design and color in 1978 he secured a job in Baltimore, Maryland working for WJZ-TV in their graphics art department, . His tenure with WJZ lasted fifteen years, from 1978-1994, during that time his duties ranged from make-up artistry, set design, construction and styling, to computer graphics.
In 1990 Jorge Alberto decided to follow his dream to become a fine artists and started attending classes at The Schuler School of Fine Arts graduating with a certificate of completion in 1994. After graduating from Schuler's he moved to Florence, Italy perfecting his skills as a realist painter.
Jorge Alberto González returned to the United States in 1995. Today he live and work in Baltimore, Maryland and paints under the name Jorge Alberto.
